Common Questions
Can I claim my appointments through Medicare?
Yes! If you have a referral from your GP with a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM/EPC), you can receive Medicare rebates for your physiotherapy appointments. We also accept private health insurance claims through HICAPS for immediate rebates.
What happens during a pelvic floor assessment?
Your initial appointment is a comprehensive consultation where we discuss your concerns, medical history, and goals. An internal examination may be offered (with your full consent) to assess pelvic floor function, but this is always optional. We’ll develop a personalised treatment plan together.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is required to see a physiotherapist in Australia. However, if you want to claim Medicare rebates, you’ll need a referral from your GP. Private health insurance claims don’t require a referral.
Is pelvic health physiotherapy just for women who’ve had babies?
Not at all! While pregnancy and childbirth are common reasons women seek pelvic health care, these conditions can affect women of all ages and life stages. Whether you’re experiencing symptoms related to menopause, surgery, chronic conditions, or have never had children, pelvic health physiotherapy can help.
